MERA FM 107.4 is a radio station in Pakistan, covering Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot and Bahawalpur with its transmission.

History

Launched in 2012[1] as Samaa FM, the radio station is owned by Project Implementation Managers Private Limited. Branding itself as ‘Pakistan’s most technologically advanced radio network’, MERA FM claims to deliver[2] broadcast to its listeners incorporating both fresh music and unique radio programs in its mix. By creating versatile programming that revolves around news, reviews, roundups, sports among other topics, MERA FM and has become one of the most followed radio channels in the country.[3] The main focus of the company is built around the desire to provide pure entertainment and less talk.

From an advertising perspective, MERA FM 107.4 encourages brand promotions to cater target markets in a unique way. Not only with advertising, but also through strategic brand placements and other communication channels that satisfies advertising needs in the best way possible, keeping in mind the brand ethos and target market.

In November 2021, the station rebranded itself from Samaa FM to MERA FM.[4]

Awards

At the 4th Pakistan Media Awards, two of the station's RJs Adeel Azhar and Sulmeen Ansari bagged the Best Male and Female RJ Awards, respectively.[6][7]

As per research and analysis by GroupM Pakistan, RJ Sahir Lodhi was the people's choice as the Favorite RJ. A study by Radio Score MERA FM as Pakistan's No.1 radio station for RJ-based category.[8]

Another research by Media Miles revealed MERA FM 107.4 as the top most advertised station with 18% share of minutes advertised in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.[9]
