HTML-like hyperlinks in a MUD client implementing MXP.

In computing, MXP stands for MUD eXtension Protocol.[1] It is used in MUDs to enhance the normal text output with a markup language [2] loosely based on HTML and XML.[3] In order for MXP to be used it must be implemented on the server as well as on the MUD client.[4] MXP is in the public domain.[5]

Other uses

MXP is also used by the CERDEC as communication protocol.[6]
