Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid (魔法少女リリカルなのはViVid, Mahō Shōjo Ririkaru Nanoha Vividdo) is a part of the fourth Nanoha manga series along with Force, based on the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series. It takes place after Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS and follows one of its characters, Vivio Takamachi.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid is serialized in the Japanese magazine Comp Ace since its July 2009 issue which was released on May 26, 2009.[1][2] As of March 2012, Kadokawa Shoten has compiled its chapters into six bound volumes.[3]

Story

Set four years after StrikerS, the Sixth Mobile Division has disbanded and Nanoha Takamachi has taken a leave of absence to raise her adoptive daughter, Vivio Takamachi. After reaching the fourth grade of her primary school, she is finally given her own device, which gives her the form of the Sankt Kaiser mode. She later meets a girl named Einhart Stratos who, like Vivio, is a descendent of a ruler of the Sankt Kaiser era, and wishes to prove her fighting style the strongest. Together, Vivio, Einhart and their friends enter a martial arts tournament to prove their fighting style the strongest.

Characters

Vivio Takamachi (高町 ヴィヴィオ, Takamachi Vivio)
The protagonist of this story, Vivio is a girl who was rescued and adopted by Nanoha during the events of StrikerS. Her intelligent device, Sacred Heart, is shaped like a crystal and appears to be a rabbit, which is nicknamed Cris (クリス, Kurisu). She is able to transform into an adult form at will, which she claims is more convenient for battle skills. It is similar to the Sankt Kaiser form she fought Nanoha in beforehand, except that her barrier jacket is white instead of black.
Einhart Stratos (アインハルト・ストラトス, Ainhāto Sutoratosu)
A user of Kaiser Arts that had given herself the name of the previous Sankt Kaiser, Heidi E. S. Ingvalt (ハイデイ・E・S・イングヴアルト, Haidei E S Inguvaruto). She picked street fights in order to prove that Hegemon's strength is the greatest of all Belkan warriors. Like Vivio, she has heterochromia and possesses both a child form and an adult form, though the latter is taxing on her mind. Her true identity is discovered by Nove and the Nakajimas, who decide to help her better understand everyone and become acquainted with Vivio, the two girls eventually becoming friends. She later receives an intelligent device named Asteon which is similar to Vivio's in that it is a support device made to look like a baby leopard.
Nanoha Takamachi (高町 なのは, Takamachi Nanoha)
Nanoha has taken a leave of absence from her duties following the disbanding of the Sixth Division in order to look after her adoptive daughter.
Fate T. Harlaown (フェイト・T・ハラオウン, Feito T Haraoun)
Nanoha's "best friend", who also acts as a mother figure to Vivio. She is still currently working for the Time-Space Administration Bureau.
Nove (ノーヴェ, Nōve)
One of the former Numbers, who was adopted by the Nakajima family following StrikerS. She acts as a coach in Strike Arts and is good friends with Vivio. Following a battle with Einhart, she decides to help her understand the world a bit better.
