Matthew Beard is an English actor[1] and model. He is best known for his role as Blake Morrison in the film And When Did You Last See Your Father? in 2007.[2] Matthew portrays the character Max Lieberman in the BBC series Vienna Blood based on the books by Frank Tallis.
Early life
Beard attended King Ecgbert School in Sheffield, achieving As in his A-Level subjects in 2007.[3] He studied English and French literature at the University of York.[4] He has three sisters (Elisabeth, Emily and Charlotte).

Awards and nominations
In 2007, he was seen as teenage Blake in And When Did You Last See Your Father?. His performance gained him rave reviews and saw him selected by Screen International as "A Star of Tomorrow" and a "Trailblazer" at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. He was also nominated for Best Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards and Best Newcomer at the Evening Standard British Film Awards.
In 2015 he was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play.[6]
Other works
In 2011, he modelled for the English clothing label Burberry, and in 2015 he worked for Prada. Also in 2015, he joined Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan in the David Hare play Skylight.
