Meizu MX4 is a smartphone by Meizu. It was unveiled on 2 September 2014 and released in China on 20 September 2014, and in Hong Kong on 22 September 2014.[1]

Reception

On Tech in Asia, Steven Millward said it "is like a budget iPhone 6 Plus with big ambitions".[1]

Ubuntu Edition

In March 2015 Canonical presented a version of the Meizu MX4 running the Ubuntu Touch operating system.[2][3] This version went on sale in China on 27 May 2015 with European availability expected to follow.[4]

On 25 June 2015, the Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition was available for sale via invite system on Meizu's Official English site for Europe.[5]

Notably this is only the second phone to be commercially available with this operating system, after the BQ Aquaris E4.5.
