Mohan Singh Mehta was founder of Vidya Bhavan group of institutions and Seva Mandir in Udaipur in Rajasthan. Mehta completed his PHD from London School of Economics. He was devan of Princely state of Banswara and a member of Constituent Assembly of India in 1947. He was India's High Commissioner to Pakistan in 1951. He was Vice Chancellor of University of Rajasthan in 1960. He did a lot of work in field of adult education. He was father of Indian diplomat Jagat Singh Mehta. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civil decoration of India.
