New House, or "Newhouse" is a hamlet in County Durham, in England. It is situated on the north side of the River Wear, opposite Ireshopeburn and is linked to the main Weardale valley road by Coronation Bridge.
The onetime home of the Beaumonts, proprietors of the W.B. Lead mining company, is at New House, although it is no longer in the possession of the family following the end of lead mining in Weardale. This is probably the origin of the name since the other properties in the hamlet are contemporary with the Beaumont house, or built later.
