"The Night Flier" and "Dolan's Cadillac" were both adapted to films of the same respective names.[1][2] "Chattery Teeth"' was adapted into a segment of the film Quicksilver Highway. "Sorry, Right Number" was telecast as an episode of Tales from the Darkside before it was published in Nightmares & Dreamscapes. "The Moving Finger" was adapted into an episode of the TV show Monsters. "Home Delivery" and "Rainy Season" were adapted to short films. In May 2011, Filmmaker EJ Meyers acquired the rights to adapt "The Ten O'Clock People" into a feature film, which is scheduled to be released in 2012. The film's plot is a modernization of King's original story, but is still faithful to the subject matter.

During the summer of 2006, TNT produced an eight-episode miniseries on various short stories by Stephen King. Although one may assume from the title that all of the episodes in the miniseries are from the collection of the same name, this is true for only five of the eight ("Battleground" was featured in Night Shift and "The Road Virus Heads North" and "Autopsy Room Four" appear in Everything's Eventual).
