Nik Dodani is an Indian-American actor, comedian, and activist based in Los Angeles.[1][2][3]
He’s known for his appearances in Freeform’s Kevin From Work and NBC’s The Player,[4] as well as for his role in Joshua Leonard’s upcoming independent film, Behold My Heart, opposite Marisa Tomei, Timothy Olyphant, Charlie Plummer, and Sakina Jaffrey.[5] He performs stand-up comedy across the United States and has had his sets featured in media outlets including BuzzFeed,[6] The Huffington Post,[7] and Colorlines,[8] among others.[9]
Dodani is also currently a producer for MoveOn.org, where he recently organized a political comedy project called Laughter Trumps Hate.[10] Previously, he worked for RALLY, a political consulting firm based in Hollywood, as well as for Elizabeth Warren’s 2012 Senate campaign.[11] He studied politics at Occidental College.[12]
In 2015, BuzzFeed described Dodani as one of "14 People Revolutionising India’s Fight For LGBT Rights”.[13] In 2016, The Advocate Magazine listed Dodani as one of "21 Out Actors of Color Hollywood Should Cast as Leading Men”.[14]
