A Papua New Guinean Australian is an Australian citizen of Papua New Guinean ancestry or a Papua New Guinea-born person who resides in Australia. According to the 2011 Census, there were 15,460 people of Papua New Guinean descent in Australia and 26,787 Papua New Guinea-born people residing in the country at the moment of the census.
