Paul Wilson (criminologist)

Paul Richard Wilson (born 9 March 1941) OAM is a New Zealand-born Australian author, sociologist and criminologist.

Biography

Paul Wilson was born in New Zealand.[1] He currently holds the Chair of Criminology at Bond University. Prior to this he held academic appointments at the University of Queensland and several American Universities. He also was a Fulbright Scholar.

He has authored 24 books on crime and related social issues and he is an occasional columnist for several Australian newspapers.

He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Australia Day Honours of 26 January 2003.[2]

In November 2012, Wilson was accused of sex abuse alleged to have happened in the early 1970s. He is fighting the charge.[3]
