The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is the sheriff's office of Salt Lake County, Utah.

The Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake provides the primary policing services to unincorporated part of Salt Lake County.[1]

The Sheriff provides the other services (see below).[2]

Duties

Headquarters for the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake

The SLCSO has the following bureaus and provides the following services to Salt Lake County:

  • Corrections Bureau – Salt Lake County Metro Jail, Salt Lake County Oxbow Jail & Salt lake Valley Detention Center
    • Jail Divisions: Jail Processing, Jail Security, Jail Services, Jail Support, and Jail Housing.[3]
  • Public Safety Bureau – law enforcement at government buildings, prisoner management
    • Divisions: Civil Process Unit, Child Custody, Domestic Disputes, Ex Parte and Protective Orders, Landlord and Tenant Issues.[4]
  • Search and Rescue – throughout SLC.
  • Mounted Posse
  • Human Resources
  • Fiscal Divisions

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office was featured in the American television series Jail, (2007–2017) which is similar to the famous television series Cops, both have no narration and follow several agencies.

The County Jail is featured in the programme.
