Satoshi Honma (本間 聡, Honma Satoshi) (born May 19, 1968) is a Japanese former mixed martial artist who competed in the light heavyweight division.

Satoshi has fought for Shooto, RINGS, Pride Fighting Championships and the UFC he has also had a professional kickboxing bout in K-1.

Career

Honma had his first Mixed martial arts fight on May 12, 1990, competing for the Shooto organisation in Japan. Honma compiled a record 3-3-2 in Shooto, including a victory over Manabu Yamada. In 1993, Satoshi Honma made his RINGS debut, defeating Yasunori Okuda by submission. Honma would go on to win his next two fights in Rings before losing to Koichiro Kimura by Decision. Honma then defeated Masayuki Naruse by decision on August 20, 1994, before knocking Naruse out at K-1 Revenge II, a year later. Honma returned to K-1 in December 1995, he was defeated by Rene Rooze.

On October 11, 1998, Honma made his Pride FC debut at Pride 4. Honma beat Yuhi Sano by TKO. On June 6, 1999, Honma beat Wayne Turner in a K-1 match at K-1 Survival '99. Satoshi Honma returned to Rings on September 15, 1999. He took on Lee Hasdell at Rings - Battle Genesis Vol. 5, the bout ended in a draw after 20 minutes. This was Honma's last fight for RINGS, finishing with a 4-1-1 record with the company. Honma would go on to loose at Pride 5 to Francisco Bueno by TKO. On April 14, 2000, Honma lost to Ron Waterman by decision at UFC 25. His final career fight was on July 4, 2004 against Ken Orihashi, the fight ended in a draw.[1][2]
