Shanghai Express (ship)

Shanghai Express is a Hapag-Lloyd Hamburg Express class container ship, delivered in 2002. It was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea. It has a length of 320 metres, width of 43 metres. It has a capacity of 7,506 isotainers, up to 100,000 tons of freight,[citation needed] and carries this load at 25.3 knots (over 46 km/h). The engine output is 68,640 kilowatt (93,000 horsepower).

As of April 2008, other Hamburg Express class ships include the Berlin Express, Hong Kong Express, and Hamburg Express.

The Shanghai Express was featured in an episode of Super Ships on Discovery Channel in 2004.[1]
