Silverhair is a 1999 Stephen Baxter science-fiction novel and the first book of The Mammoth Trilogy. An omnibus edition, incorporating all three novels of this series, was published as Behemoth (2004).
This story is about a female Mammoth named Silverhair. Set in the present day on an isolated island near the Arctic Circle, it tells of Silverhair's journey and life.
"Silverhair" is also the name of a race of pseudo-intelligent space-dwelling plants in Robert L. Forward's 1992 novel Timemaster.
