Not to argue with the article, but why is it called a "Combat" pistol if it is "not suited for police or military use"? -- stillnotelf has a talk page 01:21, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Model number[edit]

The Model Number is "92 Combat", just as a Beretta model number "92FS". Calling it a "92 Competition" would be using an over used term.

And BTW - There has never been a stainless steel Beretta Combat - ever. The image that is linked to from the article is a photoshop'd image.

Merge[edit]

I'm merging this page with Beretta 92 as it's only a variant of the original and the page contains only duplicated data and doesn't meet the criteria for a seperate page, please see Wikipedia:Merging and moving pages which lists the following guidelines:

  • There are two or more pages on related subjects that have a large overlap. Wikipedia is not a dictionary; there does not need to be a separate entry for every concept in the universe. For example, "Flammable" and "Non-flammable" can both be explained in an article on Flammability.
  • If a page is very short and cannot or should not be expanded terribly much, it often makes sense to merge it with a page on a broader topic.
  • If a short article requires the background material or context from a broader article in order for readers to understand it.

Photoshopped[edit]

It is true they never made a stainless Combat, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was Photoshopped.

I didn't see the one in the article, but this one is an 'authentic' Beretta Combat that was never made. http://www.berettaweb.com/92%20Combat/Beretta%20Combat.htm

92 steel I slide and barrel on a 92 Bilennium Frame.

Also, vs. photoshopped, might it have been blasted and reanodized?
