Official Calendar[edit]

Oh, that's weird, UCI claims Züri Metzgete is a PT race while CSC doesn't, but then again UCI still have the three Grand Tours on their calender too.. I'll move Züri Metzgete. Poulsen 07:02, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't been able to find any official UCI list of ProTour races. The one linked in the article is for 2005.--Per Abrahamsen 07:53, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I found this one which does mention Zürich and Grand Tours, but somehow I trust the organization of CSC more. Poulsen 08:21, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why not go with the calendar on the official uciprotour.com website? Note that it it does lists the grand tours and Züri Metzgete (Oct 01) as part of the PT. --Serge 21:33, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Grand tours not part of ProTour?[edit]

The 2nd paragraph of the intro currently says, "The prelude to the 2006 ProTour was dominated by a dispute between the managers of the Grand Tours and UCI, with the conclusion that the Grand Tours will not be part of the 2006 ProTour." There is no source cited for this statement. To the contrary, the official 2006 ProTour calendar lists the grand tours as part of the ProTour. Unless someone can provide an official source for this point, I will correct the sentence and update the table accordingly. --Serge 23:21, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not really into the UCI vs. ASO/RCS/Unipublic feud, but I found this article, which seems to sum up the pre-season bickering. If memory serves, the grand tours are currently not a part of the PT (subject to change..), but will still give PT points - so I guess the feud has something to do with making the rules/run the finances?
