Sorry but this page is really crappy. I came to look up to see the history of the calendar and when it first had chocolate etc but it is just a long speak of nothingness. It would be helpful if someone re-wrote it. Love you Jimmy93211 00:27, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Photo

Ok, so while the christmas tree is a valid advent calendar, I think most would agree it's not representative? So I propose replacing it with a photo I have of a regular paper-thing-with-windows-and-chocolate calendar I have. Any objections? Qwerty0 (talk) 19:40, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

24 days

The article twice makes the incorrect statement that there are 24 days in Advent, and implies this elsewhere. In fact there can be anything from 22 to 28 depending on which day of the week Christmas falls on (Advent starts on the fourth Sunday before Christmas - see the linked article on Advent). The errors ought to be corrected and a general statement added to the effect that, despite the name, Advent Calendars mark off the days in December not the days in Advent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.25.109.195 (talk) 12:31, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Remove "Hand-made Advent calendars as craft projects"

Seems to me that the Hand-made Advent calendars as craft projects is hardly noteworthy and far from necessary in the entry. Shall this section be removed? --Eleazar (talk) 21:55, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Days out of order

Is there any reason/history for having the dates out of order on the gridded style of calendar? It would be good to introduce early which denominations regularly carry on this tradition.
