Date of birth and age at death[edit]

What is the source of a) August 4, 1862 as his date of birth and b) "... died ... at the age of 70"? If I am reading (using Google's translation), the two Norwegian spreadsheets correctly, both show that he was born in 1868. Meanwhile his obituary in The New York Times gives his age at death as 65.
