You need to find independent sources that assert the notability of the person involved. Look for references in books or newspapers or even web pages. 18:31, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Please dont delete this before replying to me about pointing out the mistakes in it...What's wrong with it..what should I add what should I subtract????Cooldemocrat (talk) 18:35, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't get to delete it or not. I just put a tag on it because I saw some major technical flaws. If I was mistaken, and administrator will remove the tag. Do try to find more sources. Cheers, PhGustaf (talk) 18:43, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

May I know the major technical flaws please, so that i can correct themCooldemocrat (talk) 20:36, 11 March 2010 (UTC) I can realise that some one undoes the changes that I make and those changes might make the article counter the deletion policy 59.103.137.143 (talk) 17:55, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copy Edit of Family History[edit]

The article had this section: "Haji Allah Baksh the son of Haji Hafiz Muhammad siddique Thattvi discendent of Hazrat Ali's (R.A) elder brother Hazrat Aqeel bin Abu Talib (R.A) from whose offspring is Imam Abu Jaffar Uqaili. Thatta's Uqaili family had Qazi Bin Muhammad Qasim as their chief who came to settle in Thatta in the Mughal era.

I confess, I can't unravel the lineage, and since it's not clear and I'm not sure how necessary it is, I moved it here until it can be improved. --Nuujinn (talk) 21:02, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Names[edit]

One question is how this person should be addressed. I confess to knowing nothing about Pakistani naming conventions. Some questions:

  • I added a "'" to 'Uqaili, since that appears to be a common spelling. Is that ok?
  • Evidently, this person wrote under a pen name. Was that pen name "Sarshar 'Uqaili" or just "Sarshar"?
  • The article uses "Allah Bux" and "Allah Baksh", what is the difference in these? Can we settle on one or the other, or in there a distinct meaning for each?
  • The article also used "Sarshar Uqaili" and "Uqaili", but my feeling is we should settle on one name if possible for the article. Thoughts?

Thanks for any help, --Nuujinn (talk) 21:54, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot friend...may you flourish the most..coming to your questions..regarding bux and baksh lets make it unifrom baksh...sarshar was his pen name and uqaili his family name which originated from Aqeel may gods mercy be upon him who named his son as Budail al uqaili...a common muslim knows all this... 'uqaili..pk doesnt matter...we should settle on sarshar uqaili..abt references I cant find them as all the info is like tales of ancient :( you decide what to do..and after all your ammendments I can yet see the deletion notification..how to get rid of it??? thanks once again..take good careCooldemocrat (talk) 13:40, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information, I'm not muslim but pleased to have the opportunity to learn more about islam and its traditions. We can't get rid of the delete notice. But if the article is deleted, we can put it into your userspace and work on it there until we have proper references.
Have you tried to contact the newspaper listed as a reference? If I could get a translation of that article it might help. I'll keep looking myself, good luck to you. --Nuujinn (talk) 22:23, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
