Structure of this article[edit]

When I've put the basic lists in, I'm contemplating converting the lists into tables. In such a table, we could include a column for the earliest year in which the ancient parish was mentioned. This would then allow the chapelries to be brought out into either the same table or a different one, which also would include the first year in which they were mentioned. Doing that would allow the townships to be added as an extra column in both tables. For the extra=parochial areas, a column would also be usefully added that gave the date at which the area lost its extra-parochial area status. We would also have footnotes that add extra information about each entry, for example, for Threapwood, the fact that its boundaries crossed the border into Flintshire (or Maelor Saesneg) for much of its extra-parochial life, and other cross-border facts, etc. If we could, we could also add the hundred the ancient parish was in, but that may require careful study of a map. Any comments on this? At the moment, the list looks a bit out of place, but if I make the changes, as described above, they should improve (see City status in the United Kingdom#List of officially-designated cities for how such a table with footnotes might look in general terms.)  DDStretch  (talk) 23:19, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
