Article title altered from "serial killer" to "criminology"

I see that Legitimus changed this article's title to Angel of Mercy (criminology) away from Angel of Mercy (serial killer) and then merged content from the former article. But I'm not understanding the reasoning behind the change in title. Not all "angels" kill? How so? Are we speaking of hurting people (making them very sick) but never actually killing them? The content that was merged here seems to mostly be about murder too. And even if "angels of mercy" don't always kill, this is still a type of serial killer. I was unaware of this article for a very long time, having only known this principle as an "Angel of Death," which I created an article on. After stumbling over this one, I realized it was much more detailed and would likely make for a better title, so I merged them and went with this title.

The reason I changed the title to (criminology) was because I realized that this pathology is not always directly homicidal. Some criminals who follow this pattern enjoy simply making the patient ill and then "curing" them. While there are less-psychopathic reasons to do this, like to con patients out of money (think of the doctor from Steinbeck's The Pearl), with more twisted individuals the goal is exerting power over the victim by making them sick (but not intending to kill) or by creating the illusion of being the hero in "saving" them. These only work where the "angel" can carry out their task without their victim knowing. Michael Swango, besides killing, also used to dose his co-worker's food with meds that would make them vomit or have diarrhea, apparently getting a perverse kick of this even though it was not fatal.Legitimus (talk) 13:15, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

I understand. In that case, the lead should initially specify that this type of individual is not always a serial killer, instead of initially describing them as a serial killer. Of course, you noticed my cleanup of your merge, but I'm thinking of leaving this aspect of the alteration (the lead bit) up to you. Flyer22 (talk) 19:46, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
