GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

This article is in decent shape, but it needs more work before it becomes a Good Article.

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
In the Background section, this sentence ---> "by the end of the year, his cravings for the drugs had diminished", "cravings" doesn't seem to be the right word. In the Recording section, "Sherley recorded a version of the song, which he passed onto the prison pastor via the recreation director.[11][12].", remove the period after reference 12. In the Reception and impact section, it would be more encyclopedic if "#2" was changed to "number two". Same section, "Nevertheless, the single hit the Billboard Hot 100 on May 25, 1968", "the single hit" sounds very odd, might need to be reworded.

    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
Dates need to be unlinked, per here. In the Background section, correctly link "Ring of Fire" to its correspondence article. In the Recording section, it would be best if "June Carter" was linked once, per here.
Half-check, dates need to be unlinked. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:08, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
Does Reference 27 cover all this ---> "Cash opened the shows with a rendition of "Folsom Prison Blues" and complimented the rest of the concert with songs about prison, including "The Wall", "Green, Green Grass of Home", and the gallows humor tune "25 Minutes to Go". The singer also included other songs of despair, such as the Merle Travis coal mining song "Dark as a Dungeon". Following "Orange Blossom Special", Cash included a few "slow, ballad-type songs", including "Send a Picture of Mother" and "The Long Black Veil", and then followed with two novelty songs from his album Everybody's a Nut, "Dirty Old Egg-Sucking Dog" and "Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart". June Carter joined Cash on stage to perform a pair of duet. After a seven-minute version of "The Legend of John Henry's Hammer", Cash took a break and Carter recited a poem"?
    C. It contains no original research:
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:
Why does Image:FolsomStatePrison.jpg have two of the same licenses?
    Check. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:08, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
If the statements above can be answered, I will pass the article. Good luck with improving this article!
