Cold War paranoia/political opportunism[edit]

The “general background” seems more about Menzies personal anti-communism and seems oddly parochial given the global context of the Cold War and McCarthyite repression of the left. It’s also implied that Menzies “concern” about communism in the Labor party was well-founded, and not a rhetorical concern designed to paint the ALP as aligned with the Soviets in that Cold War struggle. 121.200.4.113 (talk) 17:09, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
