King Ulf[edit]

Major problem here. There was no "Theodulf". If this comes from the Mammoth Book... then so much the worse. The best you can get is that Ida had a son Theodoric - this is nowhere near "Ulph" Freuchie (talk) 10:21, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not only that, but just because he was called King Ulph does not necessarily mean he was reigning at the time. As the son of a King he could have had the courtesy title king - as was commonplace elsewhere not long afterwards Freuchie (talk) 10:23, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Battle[edit]

The idea that this battle took place around 580 is ludicrous. Urien would have been over 100 years old. 550 is the latest feasible date, especially given that the Siege of Lindisfarne (where Urien was assassinated) necessarily came later.

I see that no-one has responded to my earlier remarks from 5 years ago, so I intend to rewrite any time. Freuchie (talk) 17:07, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
