Plot? Subject? Style?[edit]

This article is more about the circumstances surrounding the book than it is about the book itself. Apparently, the circumstances including the book signing and the author's death are more well known. When it does mention the book, it mentions where the book takes place and then says very little. Perhaps the book is not very plot-driven; however, if that is the case, the article should say so.

I have not read the book, nor could I easily obtain it. Is there anyone who has even a limited knowledge of the book's contents?

In any case, this article could clearly be improved. Rabble Rouser (talk) 22:08, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I read this book decades ago and wanted to refresh my memory on the plotline. Where is the summary and synopsis? 110.164.235.179 (talk) 11:32, 12 July 2015 (UTC)n0w8st8s[reply]

Policy discussion in progress[edit]

There is a policy discussion in progress at the Manual of Style which affects this page, suggesting that the capitalization of "like" should be removed. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. — LlywelynII 14:50, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pynchon Introduction[edit]

This is only to raise a point, the relevance of which one might question. There a many instances of the quote by Pynchon in the blurb on the back-cover of the Penguin paperback and maybe others where it states a direct quote of "comes on like the Hallelujah Chorus..." being written in the Introduction. Unless Pynchon re-edited this introduction, the quote mentioned IS NOT ANYWHERE in the published copy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.20.73.128 (talk) 22:51, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
