Birkhäuser and Springer[edit]

Any relationship with the Springer imprint with the same name? [1] Did they sell their Birkhäuser Science series to them? Tijfo098 (talk) 17:21, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see they were part of Springer. But, Spring still publishes science/math journals under the Birkhäuser imprint, albeit with a different logo (for journals). However even 2011 Springer Birkhäuser books seem to use the File:Birkhäuser_Logo.svg but also have the leaf logo at the bottom. [2] Some clarification is needed. It appears to me that Springer just sold (or spun off) its architecture series to ActarBirkhäuser, but has kept the Science series, including the rights to the vertical logo, which is now used by both companies Tijfo098 (talk) 17:40, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is an announcement of the deal here (in German).  --Lambiam 19:51, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I had found that already, and proposed to split this article into the history part for Birkhäuser and the architecture stuff, which is to be merged with ACTAR. Per usual Wikipedia convention, I started discussion on the merge at Talk:ACTAR. Tijfo098 (talk) 04:45, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
