There are som inaccuracies in the Bob Beaumont page and I am attempting to correct them. T442163 (talk) 16:44, 2 November 2011 (UTC) (talk) 16:35, 2 November 2011 (UTC) Robert G. Beaumont (April 1 1932 – October 24 2011) was the founder of Sebring Vanguard the producer of CitiCar, an electric automobile manufacturer from 1974 to 1977. He was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and attended Hartwick College after serving in the United States Air Force.[1]
[edit] Career Beaumont was the owner of a Chrysler dealer in upstate New York before moving to Detroit, Michigan, for a short time. He then moved to Sebring, Florida where the CitiCar was produced. Sebring-Vanguard went bankrupt in 1977. However, the assets of Sebring Vanguard that produced the CitiCar were sold to Frank Flower of Seawell, NJ; who continued to produce his version of this unique EV called the Comuta-Car from 1979 to 1982 in the same Sebring, FL factory. After the sale of the Sebring-Vanguard assets, Beaumont then moved to the Washington D.C area in order to lobby and promote electric vehicles and had a used automobile dealership in Columbia, Maryland. He was also involved in a short lived endeavor for an electric car named the "Tropica"
