Hello dear editors,

This is my first article. I tried to follow all the guidelines. There might be mistakes and/or inappropriate content, for which I apologize beforehand. I'm worried, for example, that there are a bit too many "selected publications". Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hunan Rostomyan (talk) 04:59, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

notability and Biography of Living Persons tags; removal of external links[edit]

At 02:55, 14 February 2021‎, user:Possibly made two edits that I think are wrong.

Tags were added to indicate problems that don't exist and they delete external references.

Brian Harvey is notable. I've bought books that he's written and use software that he has produced. I've never met him, but I've encountered his work over a period of 30 years. I'm not a neighbour: I'm in another country.

The excised references are to useful documents. Why would they be removed? Would it be better if they were referenced in the body of the article? DHR (talk) 17:37, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@DHR: These are standard edits (diff). You are incorrect when you say that they deleted "references". Per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL, his main website is linked and leads to the extraneous sites that I removed, which were listed in EL. Adding tags for notability (we only have three actual sources, and need more to prove notability) and for blp sources (we need more sources than 3) is standard operating procedure. If you want to improve the article, add reliable sources from independent publications to the body of the article, using inline sources.--- Possibly (talk) 18:41, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
PS: the webcasts link is not so bad, I will restore that one. The Scratch wiki site is a) a wiki, and b) his user profile, so these things are not really needed as we have a link to his main profile. --- Possibly (talk) 18:47, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
