The series began airing as early as October 1959, according to TV listings accessed via Newspapers.com. For example, the Birmingham (Alabama) News of Oct. 20, 1959, Page 12: "Tonight at 8:30, Coronado 9. An Exciting New Series Starring 'State Trooper' Rod Cameron.
