Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band were a revolutionary and innovative rock band, founded in the Mojave Desert area by Captain Beefheart

Did he 'found' the group there, or simply take them off there to record Troutmask? It would be interesting to have some of the stuff on the recording of Troutmask for this article, Beffheart allegedly subjected the rest of the band to sensory deprivation and virtual torture by all accounts, resulting in the wonderfl album we all know and love today... quercus robur 21:17, 20 Jan 2004 (UTC)


I disagree with the request to merge with Captain Beefheart -- this page is a band, that one is a person. -- Tarquin 19:59, 10 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I've missed the earlier discussion--I just came across this now--but I also think this should just link to "Captain Beefheart," unless there's going to be substantial info specifically about the band here. As of now, this adds nothing.
