Troublesome links[edit]

I'm concerned about the links to [1] which contains the complete text of the essay on Charles Reade with no indication that they have the right to publish what must surely be in copyright. Lady Audley (talk) 07:02, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading reference[edit]

The reference to 'Peregrine Pickle' could easily be taken as meaning that the Smollett novel was written by Reade. (Pli) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.49.245.42 (talk) 08:50, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've changed this to "and his adaptation of Smollett's Peregrine Pickle". Cwrwgar (talk) 12:47, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Family[edit]

In [1879] his friend Laura Seymour, who may have been his mistress and had kept house for him since 1854, died.

But then:

Reade and his late [?] wife had an adopted daughter.

Can you clarify the marital picture? Valetude (talk) 10:54, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
