Price reflects everything[edit]

Technical analysis assumes that a stock's price reflects all that is known about a company at any given point in time.

This is almost entirely backwards. Technical analysis explicitly assumes that the current stock price does not reflect all that is known about a company at the present time, that past stock prices (and generally trade volumes, etc.) affect how the company is expected to perform in the future. The assumption that the stock's price reflects all that is known about a company at any given point in time is a Markovian assumption, generally used by Efficient Market Hypothesis adherents to dispute technical analysis.
