Boundaries of Cheylesmore[edit]

Is The Charter House really in Cheylesmore ? (I don't think so).

Does The Charter House have Cheylesmore generally included as part of its name e.g - 'Cheylesmore Charter House' ?

If both answers are no then it shouldn't really be included on this page. (Curran1980 21:27, 21 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Cheylesmore is quite large. I am not sure of the exact boundaries, but I think that the Charter House and the near by section of London Road is Cheylesmore. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know that exact boundaries of Cheylesmore to the North and East? Snowman 21:49, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I phoned Cheylesmore Manor House (currently a registry office) and a member of staff confirmed that Cheylesmore Manor House is in the Cheylesmore district of Coventry. Does anyone need any better evidence? Snowman 15:07, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to The Charter House which is located in the fields between London Road and Terry Road (Lower Stoke). Curran1980 16:54, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am still trying to work out in what district it is in. Cheylesmore? Whitley? Stoke? Snowmanradio (talkcontribs) 17:24, 1 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

All depends on what you mean by Cheylesmore It is not part of Cheylemore Ward (voting district) it is part of St Michael's Ward. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.29.155.131 (talk) 10:00, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

Locally also, and perhaps more commonly, pronounced "Chilesmore" with a long "i". (I live within walking distance.) Narky Blert (talk) 12:39, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
