death of Chief Justice Martin G. Yinug on 31 August 2014[edit]

I am about to update the article with this fact, based on an official statement on 3 September 2014 by Federated States of Micronesia President Manny Mori. I have not found this statement online yet (the FSM Government site http://www.fsmgov.org/press.html was last updated in February 2014) but I received a copy of it from my daughter, who is the late Chief Justice Yinug's daughter-in-law. The proclamation begins,

"PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION / HALF MAST DISPLAY OF THE FSM FLAG / AND STATE FUNERAL / IN HONOR OF CHIEF JUSTICE MARTIN G. YINUG

"WHEREAS, it is with deep sadness that I announce officially the untimely passing of Honorable Martin G. Yinug, former Chief Justice of the Federated States of Micronesia on August 31, 2014."

and ends

"NOW THEREFORE, I, Manny Mori, President of the Federated States of Micronesia, hereby proclaim a national mourning period in honor of the late Chief Justice Martin G. Yinug commencing on September 3, 2014, until the State Funeral of the late Chief Justice. The National Flag of the Federated States of Micronesia shall be displayed at half-mast for 4 consecutive days following this official proclamation. The date and details for the State Funeral will be announced once available.

"IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have set my hand and affix my signature hereto this 3rd day of September 2014. [Signature] Manny Mori President"
