Article creation[edit]

This post is a copy-and-paste from my sandbox http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Tpennello/sandbox/grube, which I will mark as obsolete and remove the category declarations. The reason for the copy-and-paste is due to a recommendation from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Biography#WikiProject_Biography_11_easy_steps_to_producing_at_least_a_B_article, which is contrary to the recommendation from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Your_first_article, which suggests one move it from a sandbox, and is contrary to the recommendation from the text that arises when you create a new main page, which suggests you place a new article at Special:MyPage/... . I have chosen the first advice of the three; it seemed to make the most sense.

Being inexperienced at writing Wikipedia articles from scratch, I modelled the format of this page after that of Helmuth Rilling, a well-known conductor whose interpretations of Bach have been my favorite since the 1970s. According to the wiki entry, Rilling is a notable choral conductor, as is Grube.

Information source[edit]

The information for the page was provided by Christian Grube to me personally. I have made considerable edits to the information to attempt to bring it into a style befitting wikipedia, and have read a number of the wikipedia articles on creating articles, although the information seems to be somewhat dispersed, so I may well have missed something; I welcome instruction from the experienced.

I am a current member of the Board of Directors of the Santa Cruz Chorale and a tenor in that chorale since 1993, and hence have personal experience with Grube's conducting and concert-making, and also have been a student in his conducting classes. You can read a bit about the Chorale at http://www.santacruzchorale.org/history.html.

Photo[edit]

The photo added this day was at a request of the photographer, Karen Gordon, and Grube; they have given me the permission to release it under the appropriate wikipedia license. Tpennello (talk) 09:38, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
