Updated and linked[edit]

I have updated this article with all 59 candidates' names, and made them links (admittedly, many dead) and added disambiguation so that the names do not link to the article of a completely different person. GBC (talk) 04:07, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More efficiency[edit]

I am open to suggestions as to how we can better link multi-year candidates from the different lists for each election. Some candidates have run 6 and 7 times in general elections. Rather than duplicate their personal profile information in different years, perhaps we could set a criteria that candidates that have run at least four times, or three times in non-consecutive elections, would have a dedicated page, while others would have their information under the election they last ran, with links from the other (or other two) list(s). Further to the above, I have already created separate articles for Baird Judson and David J. Reimer; one already exists for Ron Gray and Larry R. Heather. The other candidates I intend to do, when I have the opportunity, are Colin George Atkins, Durk T. Bruinsma, David W. Bylsma, Geoffrey Capp, Ken DeVries, Peter J. Ellis, Dave Joslin, Harold John Ludwig, Terry M. Marshall, Robert Scott, Eric Truijen and Frank Wagner. Future elections would determine what other candidates would receive a dedicated entry.

I would revise the criteria:

  • anyone who ran at least four times
  • anyone who ran at least three times, all of them non-consecutive and at least one of them in the latest five elections
  • anyone who served as a party leader and ran at least twice for the party, regardless of when

Okay, I decided most of those who meet the criteria still have a pretty skimpy section, so I created an omnibus article for all but three of the above people. After the election, I intend to remove some of the superfluous items that presently help people find riding names. GBC (talk) 05:56, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
