Why PROD?[edit]

The article "Cold fission" is not original in a sense that corresponds to published work. Nothing is new. Could you be more precise in proposal to delete it? Thanks Modesto Montoya

What is "scission"?[edit]

The article refers to THE "scission" configuration. What is that? JRSpriggs (talk) 00:49, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is clear that the scission wikilink that was in the early article pointed to an irrelevant target article. I changed that to just the "scission" and posted a request for clarification on the author's talk page. It is clear from the abstracts of the references that the term has some recognized meaning in nuclear physics, so it just needs to be defined or explained in the text here. I presume it means the "scissors" configuration at the saddle point in the potential energy surface that the system must go through to fission, but I am not certain enough about that to put it in the article myself.
