Early history of music schools- November 2010
[edit]I deleted the unreferenced "Chinese Royal Academy" as the only institution I could find of that name taught Mathematics [[1]] However, this does have the impact of leaving this section as being woefully judeo-christian orientated. Additional non "western" referenced points are required to provide balance.--Hywel Ashkenazy (talk) 22:10, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Contemporary college or university school of music - November 2010
[edit]Main change I made here was to strip out all the individual schools, which were being added the "my school too!" approach. Given the plethora of schools which could be added, it may be better not to mention any school, except as a referenced footnote, when giving an example. --Hywel Ashkenazy (talk) 23:29, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Page Name
[edit]I propose that the page be renamed simply as "Music Schools" for the following reasons: 1. Music schools currently redirects here - but the page is restricted to tertiary institutions.
2. The page used to be called Music schools, but was renamed as College or Univerity school of music, possibly because it became full of college and university data ie list-like and predominately US - this has now been resolved by moving much of that information into a country specific page on the United States.
3. The country specific pages ie Scotland, Germany, show how both secondary and tertiary schools can be captured together.
4. A secondary/tertiary division is quite false as many secondary music students perform better than some tertiary students! If there is not any sufficiently adverse comments I will transfer over and include a relevent section on secondary level schools. --Hywel Ashkenazy (talk) 23:03, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
