– They will be confuse. 23.84.172.67 (talk) 15:14, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@162 etc.: I have told you that Amine (rapper) and Amine (French singer) will be confuse because the former has more page views. Amine (American singer) could redirect to Aminé because Williamette Week uses rapper, as well as "singer", too (although Allmusic only says rapper).
Danny Boy (rapper) does more than just rapping and also performs as "Danny Boy O'Connor" (which uses his real last name and "Danny Boy" is short for Daniel). However, searching "rapper Danny Boy" throws up results of Danny Boy Steward, who is an associate of Death Row Records (which included Tupac Shakur). 23.84.172.67 (talk) 17:16, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For those out of the loop, OP is referencing this RfD of Amine (singer). 162 etc. (talk) 20:26, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@162 etc. scroll down below to see my opinion on the whole thing
While I voted opposed, I am not opposed to " Danny Boy (rapper)Danny Boy O'Connor " but I am opposed Danny Boy (singer)Danny Boy Steward.
While the OP is not wrong ' ' However, searching "rapper Danny Boy" throws up results of Danny Boy Steward ' ' before pushing enter on google it offers you both as option to search, also push enter both page show up. I mean the singer shouldn't be above the rapper but it is what it is. I have also googled Danny Boy if you push enter without seeing the option (which include both subjects) you will stumble on an old Irish song.
I think i understand where the OP is coming from but please see my comment before voting and my reasoning before voting. Filmman3000 (talk) 23:16, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:SINGERDAB. There would need to be evidence that the rapper most commonly goes by Danny Boy O'Connor rather than just Danny Boy for natural disambiguation to make sense here. And I am not sure the singer goes by Danny Boy Steward at all, so it would be a completely inappropriate title. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:25, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To be clear, it's not that these can't be confused for each other (they can), but hatnotes serve users who reach the incorrect article. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:28, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I took care of the additional disambiguation link both page need. Yes it's particular for these two because they are from the same area and hip-hop/hip-hop related artists. Filmman3000 (talk) 23:24, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the extra hatnotes you added per WP:NOTAMBIG. Only hatnotes between the singer and rapper are needed, because that's the only ambiguity in the parenthetical disambiguation. No user is reaching one of these articles and seeking one of the other entries on the disambiguation pages. Mdewman6 (talk) 21:59, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per COMMONNAME, but maybe there's another disambiguator that's preferred.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:15, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I believe he is credited as Danny Boy O'Connor in all the sleeves of the House of Pain and La Coka Nostra albums. However, his name is often simplified to Danny Boy by his bandmates or himself when talking about him in interviews or songs. In many articles when he was in these groups he is mostly referred to Danny Boy, in recent years since he opened his museum he is referred to as Danny Boy O'Connor at all times, in the press. He recently published a book and the name on the cover is Danny Boy O'Connor. I understand both sides making points, I will cast my vote Friday or this weekend.Filmman3000 (talk) 18:06, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, I think the first one should be moved per common name as the article refers as "O'Connor" and the second one may therefore be moved to the base name. Though I don't know enough about either of those people to give an opinion about the situation. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 18:25, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Danny Boy is also the name of a classic irish song. See the disambiguation page ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Boy_(disambiguation) ). So Danny Boy (singer) should stay, and Danny Boy (rapper) should be a redirected to Danny Boy O'Connor if a re-naming. Being well-versed in hip-hop. O'Connor is more well-known compared to Stewart, in the sense that he is the face of a product, while Stewart sings the chorus of famous songs and was kept in the dark.Filmman3000 (talk) 19:21, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I wasn't aware that Danny Boy already has an article which is not a redirect or a dab page. Whether that's the primary topic or not is another question. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 19:40, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Iggy the Swan, another point that I want to make. Is that both Danny Boy are hip hop artists whose most well known work is of the same area (1992-1998) if that doesn't add to confusion.
Danny Boy (Singer) --> Stays --> with a note on top of the page "Not to be confused with Danny Boy (rapper)." Even if the rapper's page become a redirect for the above reason.
Danny Boy Steward --> doesn't need to exist at all the singer never used that pseudonym to my knowledge and according to my google searches.
Danny Boy (rapper) --> can become redirect to Danny Boy O'Connor
Danny Boy O'Connor --> can become the main page
Regardless to what happens to O'Connor's page a note on top of his page should say "Not to be confused with Danny Boy (singer)."
Thanks I am still turning my head on this one. Filmman3000 (talk) 20:17, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have just noticed regarding O'Connor that there is also a Danny O'Connor (boxer) and others with the same common name. I would probably vote for Danny Boy (rapper) to Danny O'Connor (rapper) and the other one to stay put based on the article content on what they refer to as well as sources given by titles alone. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:15, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Iggy the Swan I think you mean Danny Boy O'Connor (rapper) instead Danny O'Connor (rapper). There is "Boy" in his pseudonym, in none of of his project he signs Danny O'Connor, either Danny Boy or Danny Boy O'Connor.
But yes if the page is renamed Danny Boy O'Connor I would note "Not to be confused with Danny Boy. This article is about the folk song. For other uses, see Danny Boy (disambiguation) and Daniel O'Connor (disambiguation).**:::::Also Danny O'Connor is the name of several well known individuals not just the boxer ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Daniel_O%27Connor&editintro=Template%3ADisambig_editintro#Other_uses ). I doubt someone looking for the boxer will be confused with an artist.
But between the singer and the rapper there might be confusion because as I said before they are recording artists of the same music genre during the same area. Filmman3000 (talk) 22:02, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, by looking at some sources, I do believe he is commonly known as Danny Boy O'Connor. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 09:30, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes @Iggy the Swan, he is commonly known as Danny Boy O'Connor. Filmman3000 (talk) 01:00, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When the conversation will not include the singer I may vote differently. Filmman3000 (talk) 01:01, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You can vote for each move separately, it's not all or nothing; just because both moves are being discussed here does not mean you have to support or oppose both together as proposed. You can support one but not the other, or suggest alternatives. Mdewman6 (talk) 22:05, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I took care of the additional disambiguation link both page need. Also when googling "Danny Boy" you will stumble upon an old Irish song by the same name and google will offer you the option to either search the rapper or singer. I looked on Discogs Danny Boy (singer), aside from his Instagram, and one 2pac release where he is credited as Danny Boy Steward, also while looking at his Instagram when he does an event or releases a song he credits himself as Danny Boy without the Steward.
Danny Boy (rapper) according also to Discogs where all the pages of the booklet have uploaded, he is credited as Danny Boy O'Connor on House of Pain's first breakthrough album. On the second album there is a photo of him and is written Danny Boy below him, but for his album design, he is credited as Danny Boy O'Connor. I looked in old articles where is mentioned and he will often refer to himself as either Danny Boy or Danny Boy O'Connor.
Finally, I do not oppose changing Danny Boy (rapper) to Danny Boy O'Connor, however because the conversation is mixed with another artist I will have to Oppose it. If someone wants to restart a similar tread strictly about the rapper I may vote differently upon hearing the reasoning of others.Filmman3000 (talk) 23:05, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See my comment above regarding the hatnotes. Indeed the song is the current primary topic; users seeking the rapper or singer reach the correct article via disambiguation page linked in the hatnote at Danny Boy. Mdewman6 (talk) 21:59, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
