Merger proposal[edit]

To improve referencing rather than to merge; some evidence for independent notability of David Mrakpor. Klbrain (talk) 07:50, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This subject is not individually notable outside of Blue Lab Beats and should be merged or redirected to that article. Richard3120 (talk) 22:51, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is so far from the truth!!! David is an outstanding multi-instrumentalist recognized in the London Jazz scene in his own right. Blue Lab Beats is just one of his gigs!!! 2A00:23C8:A4B7:A201:26CC:329B:BEAC:4830 (talk) 17:08, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Don't Merge David has an identity that is separate from Blue Lab Beats. Example: see the lineup poster for Brick Lane Jazz Festival 2023. Wikiwikiwwwest (talk) 00:18, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The point is that the festival isn't notable either. There is nothing in the article at present to show that the subject is involved in anything notable outside of one band. Also, please note that Discogs, Shazam, social media and gig listings only prove existence, not notability, and their use on Wikipedia is discouraged. Independently of Blue Lab Beats, David Mrakpor has several performance credits in the band of Joe Armon-Jones which is notable. David is one of the more important people in London's "jazz jams" scene. Described as "London jazz royalty". He has solo releases on the Jazz re:freshed label. Bedroom Frequencies is also not a reliable source, it's a blog run by two people under pseudonyms. But you have a point about the band and the record label. I'll have another look tomorrow. But some of those "sources" need to be removed. Richard3120 (talk) 01:59, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
