Untitled[edit]

The article is boring and has nothing to do with demographics - exept the population number data which is incorrect. Belgrade was a very vibrant and multicultural city/town long before the Serbian independance. Over the centuries it was the mayor Turkish land border crossing with Crhistian Europe, having many special sotreges, trader inns and other facilietes that cities on the trade rouds have. Inhabitants in Belgrade were traders from all parts of Ottoman empire, and neighbouring countries - Turkish, Greek, Serbian (from different parts of Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro), Aromanian, German (in one point over 1000 German families lived in Belgrade, many old citizens of Belgrade habe German names even nowsdays), Jews (Sapanish and German), Dubrovnik-traders etc. Until the mid of the 19. century camels were very common to see in Belgrade - Belgrade was the final desitnation for Turkish traders that used camels for transportation.

Belgrade was not a big city, but it was an interesting and vibrant city on the crossing of two macro cultures. --Luzzifer (talk) 17:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Historical illiterates[edit]

People who don't know subject they are editing shouldn't edit them in the first place. Also, it would be quite nice if people editing English version of the article actually knew English.
