Allman Name

So either "...family’s prestigious musical history actually had little effect on him..." or (two sentences later) "...Devon grew up on classic, blues-inspired rock music, and has specifically mentioned ... The Allman Brothers Band ..." [presumably "has mentioned" is understood to mean "as primary musical influences"]

Basically, I understand that the people who wrote the article want to make sure that it is understood that Mr. Allman did not meet his famous father until later in life, and has not made a point out of trafficking in his famous surname to open doors for him. Devon Allman's Age

Devon Allman's Wikipedia page shows his birth date as August 10, 1975. Gregg Allman's Wikipedia page shows Devon's birth date as August 10, 1972. Both of them can't be right. My guess is that Devon wants to cut a few years off his age to appear younger to his potential audience. But I could be wrong.
