Well done[edit]

Just want to leave a "thumbs up" for the DCCT page in its current form. It's concise, points out the importance of the study, points out a few "gotchas" in the study and how its results can be interpreted (especially "severe hypoglycemia" preselection).

The DCCT represents a sea-change in treatment of both T1 and T2 diabetes. Diabetes treatment before the DCCT results, was like geology before the theory of plate tectonics. Having lived through both the pre-DCCT and post-DCCT era as a T1 diabetic I cannot emphasize enough how important the DCCT results were.

Before the DCCT results, the thought that good bg control via intensive treatment was worth the effort was an unproven but interesting idea. After the DCCT it was a proven fact. That's a huge change for millions and millions of people around the globe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.121.14.11 (talk) 15:07, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
