PROD Template was Inappropriately Applied[edit]

I'm sure that wike editor JASpencer had the best intentions in PROD flagging the Don Stephens article. However, given the stature of Mr. Stephens in the modern Survivalist movement, it was not appropriate to PROD it. Stephens is certainly noteworthy. (He was already mentioned in two wiki pages.) That is why I created the new stub page. Stephens coined the term "retreater", and he was one of the first architects in the country to advocate sustainable solar building design.

Please take the time to read both the Survivalism and Retreat (Survivalist) wiki pages. As you can see, Stephens figured prominently in those pages long before I ever created a wiki page about him. Don Stephens got involved in the editing only after someone e-mailed him to mention that a wiki page about him had been created. (See the History on the Don Stephens page.)

If anything is still in question regarding the Don Stephens pages, it should be A.) the brevity the stub and B.) the quality of the writing. I am to blame for the latter, since I drafted it. I would greatly appreciate the assistance of experienced wiki editors in improving the page.

When a nascent (stub) wiki page on a noteworthy individual needs improvement, it should be worked on and added to--not just summarily flagged for deletion. Trasel (talk) 16:11, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
