Who is Henry, Duke of Suffolk? Are you sure it wasn't Henry, Duke of York; later Henry VIII of England? -- Lady Meg (talk) 05:14, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was absolutely not King Henry, but a Duke. This was also in the year of 1523, so it could not have been King Henry in any case. The Danish language reference book say that she was suggested to marry someone called "Duke Richard of Suffolk", whose claim to the English throne was supported by King Francis of France. Ah, I see.. a Danish book and claimant backed by the King of France. Right, thought this was before Henry became King. Thanks for clarifying because I believe it was Henry before it was changed; but I do wonder who this "Richard of Suffolk" is. I also wonder, but one can do no more but to write what the references say. Perhaps some name was confused by mistake by the reference book. However, if he was a throne claimant backed by France, his title may not have been considered legal in England, but merely one he and his supporters took for him, without recognition from England.
