Multiple uses[edit]

This redirect page could be created for multiple uses of the EDGE acronym. It certainly shouldn't be directed only to Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution. Among other current uses EDGE of Existence Programme could lay equal claim, but there will be more listed in future.136.186.1.191 (talk) 05:00, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I've updated it to point to the disambig instead. - M0rphzone (talk) 02:05, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that there are other uses for the acronym is not by itself a reason to change the redirect. If the mobile technology is the primary topic for the acronym--that is, if it is the use that a large majority of users seeking something by that name wish to find--then the redirect should still go to Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution. At the moment it appears that all, or nearly all, of the incoming incoming links to EDGE intend this use. What evidence is there that the mobile tech use is not the primary use?--ShelfSkewed Talk 04:39, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, had a brain fart. I just realized what that article's topic was about. It's the type of mobile network isn't it? I guess this is the primary topic after all. - M0rphzone (talk) 06:58, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, a primary topic can change, so the issue should be revisited from time to time--which is what you were doing, in a way, and causing me to do, so all's well. Cheers!--ShelfSkewed Talk 13:57, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
