I think there is often some confusion over the definition of 'engineering' plastics and 'commodity' plastics. I have rewritten the page to reflect this whilst hopefully respecting the original text.

Removed High Density Polyethylene plastic HDPE from list[edit]

(HDPE) - is not an engineering thermoplastic.[1]

Sorting by properties, quantitative info[edit]

The article is rather disappointing. One would expect a specific discussion of the characteristics that make a plastic to be "engineering", with some numbers rather than vague words like "more" or "very". Also the list of plastics should be sorted according to their special properties (e.g. "High-strength plastics", "Heat-resistant plastics", etc. --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 02:36, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
