The section on the "Erdbach" makes no sense as written. There is no explanation of what the Erdbach is. Most likely this is a stream or creek. Perhaps the underlying rock is limestone, and this is karst topography where "sinks" are commonplace (i.e., the stream has opened up a sinkhole, into which it flows.
