"It has been suggested that this article" ('Fan Dance') "or section be merged into Fan dance (exercise)" – I agree that the current content of 'Fan dance (exercise)' should form the basis, and that the major topic must be the exercise since that got its name from Pen y Fan and in turn gave the name (nickname?) to the part of the regiment. But technically the merger has to go the other way around: there will then be no ambiguity and else the annotation '(exercise)' would not even allow 'part of a regiment'; also in this name, 'Dance' is always capitalized, thus the final article name must be 'Fan Dance'. Note that also 'Long Drag' – which only refers to the exercise – must redirect to the merger result 'Fan Dance'. — SomeHuman 28 Sep 2006 03:17 (UTC)

Coordinates[edit]

Please note that the coordinates in this article need fixing as:

When I click "all Coordinates" I end up in the Atlantic Ocean near Africa!

Times[edit]

24 hours to do 24km? The Selection pass time is less than 4 hours. The author must have got confused with the Long Drag which is 24 hours (preferably less than 20 hours in good weather however) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.105.252.245 (talk) 13:54, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pen y Fan[edit]

I removed some information from the Pen y Fan page about the Fan Dance. That page already links here, and the information was badly formatted and not exactly well-written. Rather than try to rewite it, I thought it would make more sense for people just to find the information on this page. If anyone watching this page wants to review my commit and see if any of the information is actually worth saving on this page, please do: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pen_y_Fan&diff=prev&oldid=537957936 duncan (talk) 00:01, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Really poor article[edit]

I don't know much about this topic and this article has not helped having clearly been doctored by unsigned contributors (presumably members/sympathisers of special forces). I would suggest that the whole thing simply deserves a paragraph in the Special Air Services article especially if discussion of problems associated with the exercise are deleted with unreferenced assertions.
